William Kieber, DVM
Dr. Will Kieber was born and raised into a military family, which gave the opportunity to experience Colorado, Alaska, and Vermont while growing up. After graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy, the North East Kingdom was where he lived and worked as a laborer for years, before a serendipitous combination of numerous wildlife encounters and being encouraged to seek higher education by a local veterinarian led him to start his journey at VTC with becoming a veterinary technician. UVM was a great life experience and solidified his chances of applying to veterinary schools while he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Michigan State University Veterinary School accepted him into their program in 2011.
For the 5 years after graduating from Michigan State University in 2015, Dr. Will worked at a very busy general practice in historic Ypsilanti, Michigan. While he does enjoy working with cows and horses, not many were ever brought to the clinic, so he wound up seeing primarily cats and dogs along with an occasional exotic pet. Will met Rachel while she was working on her second college degree at University of Michigan; a couple years later he showed her how beautiful Vermont is, and in the fall of 2021 they moved to Vermont with their dog Curly Sue.
While Michigan was great in many regards, he is glad to be able to move back to Vermont and get back outdoors! He will miss the friends he made there, and the Ypsi Food Co-Op providing daily nutrition, but is happy to be able to serve the community here, now.
Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, reading, painting, and fishing among many other activities.
